Tackling the challenge of testing the scalability of a trusted digital audio-visual repository
Sinead Redmond - NUIM
In creating the Digital Repository of Ireland (dri.ie), the challenge of testing the scalability of prototype solutions with large-scale datasets arose. As the DRI is at an early stage of development, assigned datasets have yet to be repurposed for ingestion into DRI, particularly not with the intention of testing the performance of varying combinations of proposed data and metadata standards. A solution of building an application that would generate large sets of dummy data and metadata was proposed. This talk will examine the implementation of that solution.
