The Changing Role of IT Services

The changing role of the IT Services 3rd level education is tied in with how the roles were originally established and what was expected at that time from the role.

By and large, these posts were established in the early 90s - before the Internet had taken off, or cloud computing had been invented. Also, the environment in which we operated was a bit more autonomous, with less of a managerial edge to it.

With the changes in technologies, budgets, expectations, demands and work environment the question to be asked is whether or not the roles have remained the same, and if they haven't, then how have they changed."
