Ian McKenzie is currently the Director of Information Technology at the University of Limerick.
Before joining the University of Limerick, Ian served as Head of IT and Educational Technology at the Emirates College for Advanced Education in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) . In this role Ian managed the IT, Application Development and Educational Technology Divisions of the College.
Ian was previously the Manager for the Centre of Excellence for ICT and Learning Technologies at the Higher Colleges of Technology in the United Arab Emirates. The Centre provided coordination and leadership to E-Learning and Educational Technology initiatives across the 16 colleges which are part of the HCT federal system.

Ian has worked with Information and Educational Technology for the past 25 years, he has been a classroom teacher, a school Principal and Chief Technology Officer. Prior to moving overseas he worked for the Education Department in Queensland, Australia. His current role at the University of Limerick blends his experience with both education and information technology to support programs and projects to seek to make ICTs an integral part of the teaching, learning, business and research activities of the University.
