Ian Spillane

Staff and Student Service Desk Manager, ISS

Ian has worked in the IT sector for 13 years and joined DCU in 2007 as part of the IT Service Desk. After becoming ISS Service Desk Supervisor, Ian completed his MBA in 2013 before becoming ISS Service Desk Manager. He has overall responsibility for the staff working within the Service Desk teams involved in the delivery of ICT services and in the provision of first and second level support to users of ICT facilities within DCU and its linked colleges.

He has worked on numerous projects throughout his career aimed at delivering an improved customer experience, in particular the recent delivery of the first self-service laptop loan unit for students in Ireland. Ian also led the project to migrate DCU computers across campus from Windows XP to Windows 7 before the April 2014 deadline.
