Dr Stephen Farrell
Research Fellow
TCD
Dr. Stephen Farrell is a research fellow in CONNECT, a Science Foundation Ireland research institute, and the school of Computer Science and Statistics at Trinity College Dublin https://www.tcd.ie/ where he teaches and researches on security and delay/disruption-tolerant networking (DTN), and in
2006 co-authored the first book on the latter topic.

Stephen has been involved in security (in industry) since the mid 1980's and Internet standards since the mid-1990's and since 2011 he has been one of two IETF security area directors.

He is a co-founder of Tolerant Networks Limited, a TCD campus company. Mostly these days Stephen far prefers to see deployment of things that are good-enough and to not wait until perfection fails to happen. Stephen's full bio is at https://www.cs.tcd.ie/Stephen.Farrell/me/public-resume.html
