LT9: Creating a maker space in an academic library
The Maker Space in the library at NUI Galway is a technology-enabled space for engaged teaching and learning. It’s a place where staff and students can come together and access equipment and services to create, collaborate, and generally ‘make stuff’.
The space opened in January of 2016 with the 3D printing service running since September 2015. This session will cover the journey to create the Maker Space, staff involvement with the project and the ways that we’re managing the space. We will also look at how some of the makers have been using the space.
