Trevor Collins


Trevor Collins has taught Economics, Business and Business Studies for over twenty years. He is an Assistant Principal in Bandon Grammar School. He holds B.A., H.D.E. and Masters in Education qualifications.

He currently oversees the creation and implementation of the ICT curriculum in Bandon Grammar School. The job also includes the sourcing of appropriate education resources and the distribution of these to staff and pupils. He has lectured for 3 years in teaching methodologies to the Business PME students of UCC.

He is very well known on the rugby circuit having been an IRFU referee and has officiated at international, Heineken and Rabo Direct level. He is very active in both the Munster Association of Referees as well as many local charitable voluntary groups. He is the fixtures secretary for the schools section of Munster Rugby.

The efforts of Trevor and his co-presenter Darren have been recognised by various bodies both locally and nationally. They won the IT@Cork excellence in education awards as well as receiving a prize in the National Digital Media Awards. Their efforts have been praised and endorsed by pillars of the ICT industry and key stakeholders in Irish education. They are passionate about improving ICT infrastructure in education and are currently working with partners in the ICT industry to improve teaching and learning in Ireland.

They both are part of the ‘DOTIE’ project (Donating Old Technology Into Education) where they source second hand computers, refurbish them and make these available to local primary schools for free. They also run the local Bandon Coder-Dojo, a computer club for kids. Members of this group have won various awards at national level over the last few years.
